We keep this simple. Optional analytics and advertising measurement run only after you accept. Where enabled, we use cookies and similar storage to understand website use and measure which campaigns lead people to Valmont. We do not sell your data.

This policy explains how we remember your choice, what may load if you accept, and how to change your mind. For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.

When you first arrive, the cookie banner asks you to Accept or Decline. Until you choose, no analytics load.

We remember your answer in local storage as valmont-consent. This stores only your consent choice, not a personal identifier. You can change it through Cookie Preferences.

If you click Accept, the optional measurement services enabled for this website may load. Providers may use cookies or similar identifiers to do their work. These optional services do not load before you choose or if you Decline. Essential website delivery and security logs are separate.

• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. Page views and loading performance, so we can understand website use and keep the site fast. We remove query parameters and fragments from the page URLs sent through these tools and exclude private nomination and authentication routes.
• Google Analytics 4. Website traffic, page views, approximate location and device information. It runs only when enabled and you accept. Our explicit page-view events use a page URL without query parameters or fragments and do not include the full referring URL.
• AppsFlyer Smart Script and OneLink. When enabled and you accept, we prepare a measured App Store link. We retain only permitted campaign, ad-set and ad IDs, the Meta or TikTok click ID, and a limited placement value. The link carries those values to AppsFlyer when you use it, helping connect a website campaign to an app installation and later consented app activity. Loading the script and following the link also involves ordinary network and browser information, such as IP address and user agent. We do not give Smart Script the full landing URL, full referrer, private nomination links or form contents.
• Meta Pixel and Conversions API. With your consent, the Pixel measures page views and confirmed Founder enquiries. For a confirmed enquiry, our server also sends Meta the same event ID, a SHA-256 hash of your normalized email, the form page URL, your IP address and browser user agent, and the _fbp and _fbc identifiers when available. The shared event ID lets Meta deduplicate browser and server reports. Hashing does not make your email anonymous.

Meta may use these identifiers to match campaign activity across its services. The _fbp cookie identifies a browser; _fbc records a Meta ad click when available. We do not send enquiry names, Instagram handles or free-text form values to Meta. Declining optional cookies prevents both browser tracking and server-side campaign events.

Accepting website cookies does not turn on advertising measurement inside the Valmont app and does not grant iPhone tracking permission. On supported iPhone builds, the app separately asks eligible users for agreement and Apple tracking permission. You can change the app choice in Settings → Privacy → Advertising measurement. If website measurement is declined, unavailable or blocked, the download button still opens the ordinary App Store link.

You can change your mind at any time, in any of these ways:

• Cookie Preferences. Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. It clears your stored choice and the website campaign record, resets measured download links, and shows the banner again, so you can choose afresh.
• Clear the entry. Delete the valmont-consent entry from your browser's local storage. The banner returns on your next visit and nothing analytics related runs until you choose again.
• Browser controls. Your browser can block or remove cookies and site storage. The exact steps differ by browser, and its help pages explain them.

Withdrawing website consent stops future optional measurement from the website. It does not change your separate in-app choice or erase information already sent to providers. To ask about that, write to hello@valmont.app.

• Your consent choice. The valmont-consent entry stays in your browser until you clear it or reset it through Cookie Preferences.
• Website campaign record. After consent, valmont-acquisition-v1 in session storage holds only the permitted campaign and click identifiers. The record expires after two hours and is removed when you withdraw, enter a private route, or close the browser tab. AppsFlyer’s temporary ss_incoming_params and ss_webReferrer storage entries are cleared after link preparation and on withdrawal.
• Server logs. 30 days. Kept by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
• Provider identifiers. Cookie lifetimes depend on the provider and browser. You can inspect and remove them in your browser settings. Analytics retention depends on our provider configuration.

The choice is yours, and Decline is a real choice. If you decline, you can still use the website and download the app. Optional analytics and advertising measurement remain off; essential delivery and security logs still operate.

We do not respond to a Do Not Track browser signal, because no consistent standard for it exists. Our cookie banner gives you the clear control instead, and it always defers to your answer.
