Cookie Policy
Cookies.
What we store, when, and how to change it. Plainly stated.

Our approach
We keep this simple. Before you choose, nothing analytics related runs. We use cookies and similar storage for analytics only. No advertising cookies. No cross site tracking. We do not sell your data.
This policy explains the one thing we store before you decide, what loads if you accept, and how to change your mind. For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
What we store before you choose
When you first arrive, the cookie banner asks you to Accept or Decline. Until you choose, no analytics load.
The only thing we keep at this stage is your answer to the banner. We store it in your browser as a local storage entry named valmont-consent, with a value of granted or denied. It is not a tracking cookie. It carries no identifier, it is read only by this site, and its single job is to remember your choice so the banner does not return on every visit.
What loads after you accept
If you click Accept, analytics load. Each provider may set its own cookies or identifiers in your browser to do its work. Nothing loads if you Decline, and nothing loads before you choose.
- Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. Our hosting provider, first party and privacy friendly. They run whenever you accept, and measure page views and loading performance so we can keep the site fast.
- Google Analytics 4. Aggregate traffic, page views, referrer, country, and approximate device type, so we can see what is working in the round. It runs only when it is switched on.
- Meta Pixel. Campaign attribution, so we can tell which campaign brought you here. It runs only when a campaign is active.
So on a given visit you may see one of these or all of them, never more. There are no advertising cookies, no cross site tracking, and no sale of data through any of them.
How to change or withdraw your choice
You can change your mind at any time, in any of these ways:
- Cookie Preferences. Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. It clears your stored choice and shows the banner again, so you can choose afresh.
- Clear the entry. Delete the valmont-consent entry from your browser's local storage. The banner returns on your next visit and nothing analytics related runs until you choose again.
- Browser controls. Your browser can block or remove cookies and site storage. The exact steps differ by browser, and its help pages explain them.
Withdrawing consent stops future analytics. It does not erase what was already measured in aggregate. To ask about that, write to hello@valmont.app.
How long things last
- Your consent choice. The valmont-consent entry stays in your browser until you clear it or reset it through Cookie Preferences.
- Server logs. 30 days. Kept by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
- Aggregated analytics. 26 months, the Google Analytics 4 minimum.
Your control
The choice is yours, and Decline is a real choice. If you decline, the site works the same and we measure nothing.
We do not respond to a Do Not Track browser signal, because no consistent standard for it exists. Our cookie banner gives you the clear control instead, and it always defers to your answer.
